Because websites require the use of fonts that are installed on the viewer’s computer, a limited number of universally installed fonts are recommended for website use. If you want a font on your webpage to appear the same to all viewers, each viewer must have the font installed on his or her system otherwise it will be automatically replaced with a default font. Unusual fonts are discouraged because only a tiny percentage of users may have them installed and thus each user will see the page with his or her own system’s default font.
